The Process of

Biblical Counseling

Why?

Why Conversar? Life can be challenging, and it’s not always easy to find someone you can fully trust, someone who listens without judgment or assumptions.

At Conversar, you’ll find that safe, neutral space where you can share openly and be completely yourself. With the guidance of a compassionate and confidential counselor you’ll be heard, supported, and encouraged as you seek clarity and healing through conversation.

What For?

Inviting the Creator into conversations about life has the power to uncover what lies beneath the surface of our hearts. Through open and honest conversations, we begin to understand our thoughts, emotions, and desires more deeply. This gentle process encourages personal growth and spiritual renewal as we gain insight into ourselves and recognize the changes God is inviting us to make.

How?

At Conversar, biblical counseling sessions are available both in person and online, offering flexibility to meet your needs. Sessions are held once a week or twice a month and last about 60 minutes. In each conversation, your counselor will gently guide you with thoughtful questions that help you look deeper into your heart and discover how God’s Word speaks into your situation. Together, we’ll seek His wisdom, healing, and direction for your life.

Biblical counseling offers guidance rooted in God’s Word—the ultimate source of truth, healing, and restoration for every believer in Christ.

Our Tools

When we truly listen—not just to words, but to the heart—remarkable transformation can begin. Genuine, attentive listening allows us to love deeply and understand the unique needs of each person. At Conversar, our first and most important tool is listening, creating a meaningful connection to each client’s life and experiences.

Our second tool is the use of intentional, focused questions. These questions help clients gain insight into their thoughts and feelings while encouraging them to explore their own solutions. This approach fosters both personal growth and spiritual development, guiding individuals toward deeper self-understanding and maturity.

The third fundamental tool is the authentic and collaborative relationship between God, the counselor and the client. The counselor-client relationship is based on a mutual agreement to bring the guidance of God’s Word to the conversations. It is developed with the following values in mind:

  • Each person is unique and different; therefore, each process and course will be personalized. - Ephesians 2:10

  • Every believer has the ability to understand God's will for his own life. - Romans 9: 1

  • The transformation happens as we experience the power of God’s Word applied to life - James 1:25

  • The believer’s character is more important than what he decides to do. - Galatians 5: 22-23

  • God’s calling is to build the body of Christ, not to solve problems. - I Thessalonians 5:11
